Stirling Wolf Sculpture by Ken Elliott at the Albert Halls
The Stirling Wolf Scuplture by Ken Elliott will be on display at the Albert Halls from 6pm onwards.
The sculpture depicts the Stirling Wolf, commemorating the 9th-century legend when wolves are believed to have saved the town from a Viking attack.
It embodies the protective energy of the Wolf, leaping to defend the people, historical events, and values of Stirling. These are represented through shapes of the wider landscape, and key structures, and a series of engraved words.
The sculpture was developed with Artlink Central as a dementia inclusive sculpture brief with local groups, and participants from across the area. The project was funded through the Life Changes Trust.

Ancient myth, mesmeric imagery and dreamlike soundscapes open a liminal space where Norse gods, Irish shapeshifters and Siberian wolf-children traverse moors and mountains. Live music stirs the soul. Shadow puppetry and animation conjure terror and tenderness in this creative ode to the wolf and wildness- drawing on folk arts while engaging a modern audience hungry for stories of landscape, ecology and the more-than-human world. Once respected and woven into the cosmology of ancient cultures, wolves became villains in European fairy tales and were hunted to extinction in Scotland by the 18th century. This show asks: ‘in the absence of the wolf, what is lost?’
